How to install php on centos7 local yum

1. Install EPEL and Remi repository

If you want to install For PHP7, you first need to install and enable EPEL and Remi repositories on the Centos7 system

yum install https://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/epel-release-latest-7.noarch.rpm

yum install http://rpms.remirepo.net/enterprise/remi-release-7.rpm

2. Install yum-utils

yum-utils can extend the default functions of yum and be used to manage yum storage libraries as well as packages without having to do any manual configuration. One of the programs provided by yum-utils is yum-config-manager, which can be used to enable the Remi repository as the default repository for installing different PHP versions.

yum install yum-utils

3. Select the PHP7 version to be installed

yum-config-manager --enable remi-php71 
yum-config-manager --enable remi-php72   
yum-config-manager --enable remi-php73   
yum-config-manager --enable remi-php74

3.1. Here we choose to install the PHP74 version

yum-config-manager --enable remi-php74

4. Start the installation and select the required extensions

yum -y install php php-cli php-common php-gd php-json php-ldap php-mbstring php-mysqlnd php-pdo php-xml php-devel php-embedded php-mcrytp php-pecl-mongodb php-pecl-redis php-pecl-memcached php-opcache php-fpm php-bcmath

5. Check the installation status

5.1. php -v Check the version

[root@centos7]# php -v
PHP 7.4.26 (cli) (built: Nov 16 2021 15:31:30) ( NTS )
Copyright (c) The PHP Group
Zend Engine v3.4.0, Copyright (c) Zend Technologies
    with Zend OPcache v7.4.26, Copyright (c), by Zend Technologies

5.2. Manage php-fpm

1. Start:

systemctl start php-fpm

2. Close

systemctl stop php-fpm

3. Check the status

systemctl status php-fpm

5.3 php -m Check the installed extensions
